Clicky the buttons and they will take you to the official
websites. I was so proud when I finally BEAT Doom 3. Gods it
was hard, those last few levels were just pure evil... And think,
there are mods out which make it even more evil than it
already is! SCARY!
Diablo 2 is still worth playing for entertainment sometimes,
but nowadays, too many cheats and hacks and snotty nosed
little kids with no manners and no respect for anyone.
World of Warcraft is currently my FAVORITE Multiplayer
game.
As for single player games, Arx Fatalis has the most UNIQUE
magic/spell-casting system out there. It has a very good
storyline and even though its a few years old now, its still
pretty to look at if you turn it to max graphics.
These however, are only some of the games we like and
have.

Why choose Eternal Shadows as a website name? Well, the reasoning behind the name is complex, and has almost as many layers as an onion.
I am far out of step with this world and the people around me, I do not think the way that 99% of the people I have met do, nor do I feel as they
do, and I certainly do NOT perceive things the way that they do. This leaves me out in the edges, in the shadows, or as a Susan Vega song once
put it so well, Left of Center.
It has been a long road for me to come as far as I have. A life that has raised so many questions due to almost constant events of weirdness that
rate very highly on my el-weirdo scale that I have researched on my own in a vast amount of areas. I wanted explanations, I wanted to
understand. I still don't understand everything I want to know, because it seems the further I dig and the more I learn, the more there is to
know.
I have learned many things. The world most take for granted, thanks to what I've learned is a very different place for me than it is for your
average, run of the mill person. It's surprising what one finds when one stands in the shadows and merely watches, merely observes, follows
patterns and trends over a period of thousands of years. The picture that emerges is quite a different one to that which most would dare to face.
Most of us prefer the Devil we know, rather than stepping out into the great unknown and meeting the Angel we do not. Though, devil and angel
for me are relative terms, a point of reference for the average person. I do not believe in either being, just the same as for me, gods as most
would understand them do not exist. From my point of view, Religion and any form of Worship is evil, I perceive worship as the behaviour of a
slave kneeling to a master. This is something I am completely unable to do. Don't get me wrong, I am highly spiritual, but working upon ones
spiritual and mental growth is NOT like religion, though for many, spirituality and religion are interchangeable terms. In fact, they are not.
However, I'm not going to get to far into that here. This is after all, meant to describe who We are, that is, Myself and My Husband. We share a
number of interests, shared interests are things such as online gaming in our spare time. Games included in our past for online entertainment
have been: Diablo II, EverQuest, Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft and Vanguard: Saga of Heroes.
Originally, my husband and I met on the Internet. It's rather a cute story really. I spoke to him on and off via Yahoo Chat for just over three
years. Even though there is a fair age difference between us, he being the younger, we developed at first a very strong friendship. Then drama
happened in my life ( insert eye roll here), and things took a turn towards something more when he picked up the pieces. Eventually, after
deciding that College was not what he really wanted, he decided to leave, give things a break and visit me in Australia. He stayed with me for
three months. Three very happy months on the whole. Then he had to go home.
A year later, he bought me airline tickets to come to the USA. Towards the end of my stay, he panicked at the thought of my having to return to
Australia, and under the advice of the then "INS", he arranged for us to be married. He was -told- that it would make things a lot easier to get
my Visa's through. As it turns out, this wasn't exactly the truth. My visas are still not completely processed and even after being here almost six
years, I am still not legally able to work. No drama, I have my own income anyway. Good 'ole Aussie dollars. I am not in any real trouble with the
new Immigrations Services, though the department in Chicago were a bit shocked at the advice we were given. The fact is, we were NOT given a
time limit on filing the paperwork for me. The other thing is, I have no real criminal record save for one charge of smoking some pot over twenty
years ago, and one traffic fine.
Due to the fact that I also have a lot to offer, and a strongly expressed desire to be a citizen, it appears, apart from a number of highly expensive
filing costs, medical tests to ensure I am not diseased etcetera, there is going to be no issue with it. My biggest annoyance right now is my
inability to get a drivers license in this state (Illinois). Illegal mexicans can do it, but can an Australian who has been of good standing for six years
and married to a citizen? Nope. Not a chance. Something not quite right there methinks. . . Strangely, I was able to get legally ordained as a
minister with no problem at all.
Anyway, other interests we share are Sumerian Civilization, Egyptian Civilization and Mythology, Celtic Mythology and Druidism. Thats just
some of the basic stuff. We have a number of reptiles (snakes and an iguana), we collect sharp, pointy objects like swords and daggers. Not the
hang on the wall kind mostly either - but real ones that will stand up to hard use. I am a fanatical collector of dragons and I have them spread
pretty much all over the house. We like Egyptian style artifacts/statuettes and artwork. We also both have a strong interest in the martial arts -
my husband having studied Tai Kwan Do, and myself, Okinawan Goju Ryu and Kyukushinkai Karate.
For myself, the list continues on. I am an A+ certified computer technican (I go my course through Micro2000 and recommend them as I believe
their course is the BEST anywhere). I write music and song lyrics, poetry (have won two poetry awards so far out of two submitted for
competition- both of which have been published), and have three books in the works. One fiction, two non-fiction. I play guitar and
piana/keyboard - neither all that well really, but I enjoy both. I have never had a music lesson in my life but was gifted with very close to perfect
pitch. I also do artwork in a variety of mediums. Pencil, Oil paints, Acrylic Paints, Airbrush, and one of my paintings ( a portrait) is currently
hanging in Europe. I prefer fantasy topics, but I can paint/draw just about anything. Some of my best works have been animal portraits. I have
a keen interest in paleontology and archeology. I have privately studied the uses of herbs, the active compounds they contain and have often
preferred herbal treatments for illnesses and problems than mainstream medication. Due to a strong background in both medicine, medications,
the actions and interactions of medications combined with a strong background in psychology, I do pretty well with these treatments along with
other various forms of alternative medicine. I also read Tarot and Rune Stones.
I have trained up to olympic level dressage, and some haute ecole (high school dressage). Horses were a HUGE part of my life for many many
years. More recently, my husband and myself purchased two horses, both mares. "My" horse is a purebred arabian mare of mostly polish and
spanish based descent by the name of "AK Camino", my husbands' horse is an appendix quarter horse mare named "Stars March" who can
proudly trace her bloodlines back to the great racehorse, "Man O War."
Currently, I mostly fool around with making beaded jewellry, hand binding books, building and improving our computer systems at home. I do
not write computer programs, I lost interest in coding when most of the more commonly used languages came out. Back in the day when they
first started teaching computer programming in Australian High schools, I first learned the old apple basic and binary. I became quite excited
when I discovered a language called FORTH because of its sheer speed, flexibility and seemingly endless potential, a potential limited only by the
capabilities of the programmer. I looked at Fortran and Cobal, and was not very impressed with either. Unix and Linux are very nice, but I still
find them limiting. One fo the BEST and most fun languages I worked with was a very flexible combination of FORTH and Unix called UniForth.
I played with both UniForth and Prolog in my early attempts at writing a self learning, intelligent A.I. (Artifical Intelligence). I had a decent
amount of success, however, the most successful A.I. I wrote is on a drive that got utterly trashed, its data beyond recovery. Since I was unable
to find the compiler programs I used to write the engines and databases for this A.I. I gave up on coding. I have not gotten into the newer
languages because I believe they are inefficient, unwieldy, overly prone to errors and are just plain outright pain in the asses.
Not much else to say really, except perhaps to show you some of the places that interest both myself and my husband.
